National Trust Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s Park Volunteers play a huge part of daily Sanctuary operations and in ensuring our guests feel welcomed. Park volunteers are stationed throughout the Sanctuary and are involved with greeting our guests of all nationalities, answering questions about our animals and attractions, helping guests to locate shows and facilities, and helping our guests to get the maximum enjoyment out of their day.We are looking for individuals with a happy disposition who are passionate about customer care, who love talking about animals, and who are committed to providing an unforgettable customer experience. What are the tasks?Welcoming our guests across various areas of the Sanctuary, answering enquiries regarding animals and attractions.Direct / escort international guests to showsAssist the Train Driver with guests transitioning to/from the trains safelyWelcome, educate and support our guests interactions within the Kangaroo paddocksTo lead by example in interacting and feeding at our daily Lorikeet gathering Liaise with guests wondering the Lost ValleyAssisting and instructing seating in a friendly way at various shows (Australiana Sheep Shearing Show, Free Flight Bird Show, Reptile Show)Fit into a team of 8-20 like minded people, following direction of a Duty Volunteer who will set your shift roster. Selection criteria:Being guest obsessed with a welcoming natureAbility to work independently and harmoniously as part of a friendly teamAre a conservation champion and wildlife enthusiastInclusive with a clear passion for providing an amazing experience to our visiting guests, following animals protocols you are trained onCommit to a weekly shift, displaying a safe and efficient manner throughoutPhysically capable and comfortable in a wide variety of outdoor situations with the ability to be on your feet for up to 5 hours a day with extensive walking, whilst smilingAble to adapt to change and to attend training sessions whilst keeping up to date with current news through various communication tools that are necessary to be a successful volunteerAble to follow instructions in a positive and uplifting demeanor. NEXT INTAKE OF SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS IS MID MAY 2020We have a stringent process our applicants go through to ensure we have a great team of volunteers within the Sanctuary.  We hold interviews and invite you to complete a trial shift before inviting you to join our Sanctuary Park Volunteer team, should you be successful.  We hold a 2 day training course for those who have graduated onto the program and this is a scheduled event - so apply today and let your fantastic flare and dedicated spirit play host to our guests and fellow colleagues.
